Albany, NY and Western Massachusetts
Au Pair USA has a very active cluster of au pairs and host families in upstate New York and Western Massachusetts. The cluster is based in the Capital District of New York State, but it also includes the nearby Berkshires region of Western Massachusetts. Each month, Au Pair USA Local Coordinators work with host families, helping them with the matching process and answering their questions about the program. They also arrange monthly meetings and social events for au pairs to help them build friendships and adjust to life in the United States.
Your Au Pair USA Local Coordinator:

About Nina:
Welcome to the Au Pair USA program! For the next year, I will be your Local Coordinator. I will be available to answer your questions, give you advice, and help au pairs and host families to have a great experience!
I have been a coordinator since 2005, and have had the pleasure of working with many wonderful host families and au pairs. I do my best to get to know everyone and am always available to my families and au pairs.
I was born and raised in upstate New York and except for a year that I spent living in Rennes, France. I have lived in the upstate New York area all my life. I graduated from the State University of New York, now called the University of Albany, with a Bachelor’s degree in French and a Master’s degree in French literature.
I taught French off and on for several years while I raised two daughters. I now am fortunate enough to have five grandchildren. For many years I have worked in sales and consequently with all types of people, always a good learning experience. My husband, Tom, has lived in the Albany area all his life and is a great resource for the unusual and unexpected places to go and things to do.
In my leisure time I enjoy cooking, gardening, yoga, swimming, knitting and studying Italian. In addition to speaking French fluently, I also speak a bit of Spanish. Tom and I love to travel and experience new cultures, here or abroad.
Each month I will plan a cluster meeting where au pairs meet and get to know eachother. I also send out newsletters to keep you updated on what's happening in our cluster. I very much look forward to meeting you, and wish you a great year!
Best wishes,
Nina
