Baltimore and Annapolis, Maryland
Au Pair USA has several very active clusters of au pairs and host families in the Baltimore/Washington DC area and the surrounding Maryland suburbs in Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Howard and Prince Georges Counties. Each month, Au Pair USA Local Coordinators work with host families, helping them with the matching process and answering their questions about the program. They also arrange monthly meetings and social events for au pairs to help them build friendships and adjust to life in the United States.

About Esme:
Hello, my name is Esme, and I am the local coordinator for the Baltimore and Annapolis areas of Maryland.
I have been a coordinator since March 2001 and thoroughly enjoy working with host families as well as young adults from around the world. Because of my travels, I understand the feelings you will have about leaving your family and about becoming a part of your host family’s lives.
In addition to being an au pair coordinator, I am a freelance writer who writes articles for newspapers and magazines. I have lived in Maryland since 1987. My husband and I moved here from Connecticut. We have three children all born in Annapolis, Md. Our daughter was born in 1990 and our sons were born in 1992 and 1996. I grew up in a big family in Montreal, Canada and I love to travel. When I was a small child I lived in London, England one summer and when I was in college I lived with a host family in Tours, France for four months while I studied at a university there. I have been fortunate to see many parts of Canada, the United States and western Europe, but there are many places I still want to visit.
Each month, I will plan a cluster meeting where au pairs meet and get to know eachother. I send out newsletters to keep you updated on what's happening in our cluster, and I am always available to answer questions and to help your transition to your new life in this fantastic place.
Best wishes,
Esme
